Open Water Training

After you’ve mastered the basics in the pool, we’ll go to Vobster Quay to continue your open water training. Vobster is a flooded quarry so is a safe, controlled environment without tides or currents which can be dived in all weather, and so it’s the perfect location to hone your new skills. There’s still plenty to see, the lake is full of perch, zebra mussels, and if you’re really lucky, you might spot the endangered white clawed Crey fish. We’ll give you a tour of the shallow plateau on your dives, you’ll see the old abandoned quarry crushing works, a sunken car, and even an old aeroplane!
